Completion of NHIS "Centralized Management WebFax System Enhancement" Project
Hyunjin.com Co., Ltd. completed the Centralized Management WebFax System Enhancement project for the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) in October 2011. The project was conducted to replace aging systems and address the need for integrated operational management through server centralization, ensuring seamless fax civil petition processing and top-tier service for all citizens.
With a project budget of 980 million KRW, the enhancement work replaced database servers previously dispersed across regional headquarters with an integrated high-capacity database server. The centralized architecture of the integrated database and key servers (Management and Web servers) improved operational efficiency. Additionally, by replacing analog fax equipment with digital fax equipment at the Seoul, Gyeongin, and Busan regional headquarters, the system shortened failure recovery times and increased fax transmission/reception success rates by approximately 15%.
To resolve the chronic issue of transmission failures due to busy lines encountered by customer center agents, a "Merge" function (sending faxes requested for the same number within a certain timeframe as a single transmission) was added, resulting in a telecommunications cost reduction of approximately 20%. Furthermore, internal user satisfaction was improved by upgrading the UI and user functions. Customer satisfaction was also enhanced by integrating the system with the official website, allowing users to send faxes and check reception status directly online.
